Apple backtracked on the “needs no virus protection” line in nearrecord time when the Flashback Trojan hit a few years back. A few Apple fanbois insist that, being a Java vulnerability, the Mac system was still “secure” – buit the Trojan only infected Mac machines.

This is another reminder of what I thought was inevitable – given the Apple…[Read more]

There are plenty of cars my family has owned, but there’s one that sticks out in my mind.

My family used to own a Skoda 120L. This is not one of the modern Skoda’s, we owned this car in the late 80s. It was rear engined vehicle that handled rather poorly. It had the petrol cap replaced with a jam jar lid. Twice. The accelerator cable snapped…[Read more]

Putting the constitutional issue aside, there is one reason why I’m not a huge fan of this program.

I’m sure there are more than a few less-than-helpful counsellors out there – despite my comments above, there will always be a few bad apples in any group of people. My comment was more of a general critique :)

Yeah, I had t ohave a bit of a giggle.

In one way, it feels bad to make fun of a guy with obvious unresolved mental health issues. On the other hand, I remember what he did to me, and mental health issues or not that’s not cool. He bit off more than he could chew and if his mental health issues were the cause of that, then he needs to deal…[Read more]

If he’s no longer working, he may now be eligible again. I think at the time it basically boiled down to “you are working too many hours, so you are no longer elegible” because of the hours he was running the taxi.

I was studying at TAFE when 9/11 happened. Shortly after, the campus was evacuated twice due to “suspicious packages”. I do wonder whether it’s going to happen again now that I’m studying and the terror level has been raised. Those two occasions were false alarms FWIW>
